Southwest branch (O)

This layout will be available for viewing on day, July xx, 2025.

Jim’s layout is a Pro-Freelanced loosely based on a major branch of PRR Mongehela Division. It is a point-to-point design for operations. For dispatching, he uses a dispatcher, towers, and signal system. There are four (4) towns, a large yard and engine facility, and hidden staging. Operating schedule is four (4) locals, two (2) transfer runs, two (2) through freights, two (2) local passenger trains, and two (2) through passenger trains. All trains have some work online. Locals originate and terminate online. Controls are by Digitrax Wireless, with telephone communications, and car forwarding is by switchlists.

Multiple articles have been published in “1:48 O Scale Trains”. The layout also has been featured in “Model Railroading” and NMRA Magazine for the last National Convention in the area.
