Theme and Era

Medford to Klamath Falls bridge line set in the 1989 time frame. The P&E is a 'what if line connecting Medford with Klamath Falls via the lumbering railroad of the Medford Corp, the Weyerhaeuser Timber Company's West Block Lines, the Great Northern Railroad and an imaginary segment linking the Weyerhaeuser and MEDCO tracks in Cascade mountains . The on-line industries are those that were in existence in the 1989.

Layout Details

A two level walk-around format, with hidden staging and storage yards begun in 2003

Total length of track on layout - 1730 feet

Length of the Main Line - 531 feet (8.8 scale miles)

Time to traverse layout at scale speed —18 minutes

Number of switches (turnouts) - 185

Number of major yards on the layout - 5


The layout has DCC control with an automatic signal system installed on most of the main line. The P&E uses Track Warrant Control (TWC) with Automatic Block Signals (ABS) for operations.


The layout will be available to NMRA members before and after the Portland 2015 NMRA Convention in August.

The Medford Railroad Park will be open to the public Sunday. Parking will be limited please call ahead to make arrangements to get into the park. The park has four volunteer organizations that will be operating;
